col. Schaffer and his last chancers is exactly what is awesome and wrong with special characters in 40k.
awesome in that he allows for the addition of some very fluffy, fun and versatile play opportunities as well as some fantastic modeling and painting. all of which i feel is what special characters should be used for. however it also lets you dump a giant pile of abuse into a list.
for example taking the maximum number of last chancers lets you have at about 640 points 10 squads consisting of two man bs4 lascannons that auto pass morale, pinning and ld checks. which in fact fills one hq slot and two troop slots if you were wondering. oh also they infiltrate so they set up last.
or 20 deepstriking plasmaguns for 640 or the same but with melta.
or you can give them all demo charges for the same price. which is just shenanigans.
im thinking about fiddling with them a bit to make it worth it to take them. the temptation to take 500 points which would be 7 missile launchers and 2 lascannons is great but i dont really see the last chancers as that kinda force. i see them more as a assaulty get themselves killed kinda force.

infiltrating or deepstrike and i can split it in as many friggin squads as i want too because i can do that so i could have 20 squads of 1 if i wanted too. both the special characters are essentially useless really except that shaffer has three attacks and three wounds an a ws 4 power weapon and a bs4 plasma pistol. which is not all that great as i fully expect him to get himself killed with his own plasma. he does have a mercharian cross tho which is neat but not all that usefull and the meddalion crimson which kinda works. so i could either stick him back behind the lines with a chancer and put kage with the rest up front so that they keep the Autopass ld checks thanks to schaffer or i could just go balls out and infiltrate all of them up front in two squads of ten with kage and schaffer attached which is not all that stupid

thepiratebay.com is one of the largest bittorrent sites available. it also is swedish and as such ignores American copyright laws. now the record industry has been accused of using some unethical and illegal methods to find, intimidate and prosecute filesharers. from refusing to disclose how they get lists of downloaders to tresspassing into private networks and even DOS attacks.
but also they have been suing The Pirate Bay for a while now. pirate bay counter sued and accused them of trespassing into their network. the investigator incharge of both cases is leading the investigation into the pirate bay and dropped the investigation against the production companies. recently it has become public that the officer incharge of the investigation is now offically an employee of Warner Bros.
they will not disclose what he does exactly but have confirmed that he is employed by them. he is employed by a company who is a principal in the investigation he is leading. wowza
